Leaving the UK for the world

Have you ever wondered what it’s really like to sell up and leave the UK in favour of travelling the world and becoming worldschoolers? In today’s episode of Our Unlimited Choices, we chat with Steve and Ruth. They’re a couple with two young children that decided they wanted more from life than what the UK was offering them.

For almost 2 years, they’ve been traveling the world together, embracing a slower, more intentional way of living and worldschooling. Their journey has taken them across 11 countries so far, including Sri Lanka, Bali, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and currently Peru. Listen here to be inspired as to how you could make worldschooling part of your lifestyle.

Key Episode Highlights

  • Making the decision to leave the UK
  • How long they spend in each location?
  • What their children Aurora and Atlas think of their worldschooling.
  • Balancing maintaining a “normal” life whilst travelling.
  • Their future plans

My takeaway

I love how Ruth and Steve have created a rhythm that works for them, proof that slow travel doesn’t have to mean constant chaos. There’s something beautiful about finding ‘normal’ in new places, especially when raising curious, adaptable kids. I love that “coffee is life” but also as soon as the local coffee shop knows their order, that means it’s time to move on! You can find all of their social network details in the podcast show notes!
