Have you ever wondered what it is really like to be a public school teacher in the USA? Imagine that being your dream career only to completely pivot and leave the school system and begin to homeschool your own children! In todays episode on the Our Unlimited Choices Podcast we speak to Corrina – a former public school teacher that ditched the classroom in form of a relaxed approach at home for her own children.
After a few years teaching in the public school system Corrina began to see problems and feel extremely burned out forcing her to take a step back and re-evaluate if this was really what she wanted anymore. In this episode we’ll dive into what changed, the turning point and what life is like now she sees education in a totally different light. You can find Corrina’s IG to connect and learn more about her homeschool life in the podcast show notes.

My takeaway
It was really interesting speaking to Corrina as I hadn’t really spoken to anyone before about the education system in the USA being from the UK myself but I was surprised, yet also not to hear that many of the complaints and concerns we express in the UK are also exactly what is being expressed in the USA. This screams to me that the system in general is outdated. Across the world education isn’t thriving, children aren’t thriving in rigidity and there is a very clear reason why homeschooling and home educating is on the rise across the globe.
